For parents

Clear sourcing, not vague claims

Every piece says where it came from and who stands behind it: your student, a named person who confirmed it, or a named adult who reviewed it.

A portfolio they can export and share

Your student brings Challenge work, projects, activities and experiences into one portfolio they can share with programs, mentors and schools.

Designed with student privacy in mind

Everything begins private. Students control what they make public, and opportunities do not receive student information without permission.

Portfolio and Trait Cards

Everything you do. One place to show who you are.

Bring together Challenge work, personal projects, activities, service, jobs, awards and real-world experiences. Each item explains what you did, what you learned, where it came from and who stands behind it.

Trait Cards bring together the work behind a durable skill. Each card shows what the student practiced and the evidence connected to that skill.

For parents

How it works for you.

One parent area on the web. You see what your student makes; your student decides what goes public.

  1. 1

    Your student signs up

In the Nextreks app, with your email as their parent or guardian. Or you start on the web and invite them.

  2. 2

    You approve

One email, one tap. Your student can start on their first Island, which is free.

  3. 3

    You see the work

Progress, the Challenges and Capstones they hand in, feedback and Trait Cards. Journals, private reflections and drafts stay private.

  4. 4

    You decide on membership

When your student asks to unlock the next Island, you choose whether to get the membership.

For parents and schools

A transcript shows only part of who a student is.

Structure, safety and ownership, spelled out.

What students learn
Durable skills from the Pathsmith™ framework, across 10 skill Islands with 7 Challenges and a final Capstone in each.
What they do
Real work in their own lives: a conversation, a plan, an event, a project. Not quizzes.
How work is labelled
Every piece says where it came from and who stands behind it: Student added, Confirmed by a named person, or Reviewed by a named adult.
How outside experiences show
Anything a student adds is labelled Student added unless the organization or person involved confirms it.
What stays private
Designed with student privacy in mind. Everything begins private, and private school records are not displayed.
What students share
Students choose what becomes public and can remove items from their public page at any time.
How opportunities are chosen
Each recommendation says why it matches. Opportunities do not receive student information without permission.
How Explore works
Opportunities come from other organizations. Nextreks lists them but doesn’t run or guarantee them, and students decide what to pursue.
