What we provide, what it costs, who owns the work, and how either side ends it.
Effective August 21, 2026
These terms are between Nextreks and the adult who opens an account, which for a student under 18 is the parent or guardian. By creating an account you agree to them on behalf of your family.
Our Privacy Policy is part of this agreement and covers what we collect and why.
Nextreks is built for high school students. A student account must be opened by a parent or guardian, or by a school on a family’s behalf, and requires a guardian email that we can reach.
One account belongs to one student. Accounts are not shared or transferred between students.
A Nextreks membership gives a student:
We improve the product continuously, so specific challenges and features may change. We will not remove work a student has already completed or a credential they have already earned.
There is no monthly billing and no free tier. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax we are required to collect.
Access to Matching is unlocked by your plan and by nothing else. It is never tied to how far your student has progressed through the program.
When a membership ends, the student keeps their completed work and their earned credentials. We do not delete a portfolio because a family stopped paying.
We search for internships, research programs, competitions, volunteer roles, and apprenticeships, and we send your family the ones that fit your student’s stated interests.
This is a curation and connection service, not a placement guarantee. Your family decides what to pursue and handles the application from there. We do not control whether a third party accepts your student, and we make no promise about any outcome, admission, offer, or job.
Opportunities are run by organisations we do not control. Check them out yourself before your student takes part.
The student owns everything they create. Their submissions, uploads, and portfolio are theirs, and nothing in these terms transfers ownership to us.
You give us a limited licence to host, display, and process that work so we can run the service: showing it to reviewers, rendering it in the portfolio, and publishing it if the student chooses to publish. That licence exists only to operate the product and ends when the content is deleted.
We do not use student work in marketing without specific, separate permission from the guardian, and we do not sell it or license it to third parties.
Nextreks owns the platform itself: the curriculum, the software, the brand, and the rubrics. Pathsmith™ is used under licence from America Succeeds.
Submitted work has to be the student’s own. Specifically, do not:
A credential only means something if the work behind it is real. Where we find submitted work is not the student’s own, we may withdraw the affected Trait Card or credential. For repeated or deliberate breaches we may close the account, and we will explain why to the guardian before we do.
Work is coached against a published rubric, and every island capstone is read by a person. Reviewers may ask a student to resubmit within their retake allowance. Nextreks does not issue letter marks or a class ranking, and a review outcome is a judgement about a piece of work against a rubric, not about the student.
We aim to keep Nextreks available continuously, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may take the product down for maintenance, and we will give notice for anything planned and significant.
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including any educational, admission, or career outcome.
Our total liability to you in any 12 month period is limited to what you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You may close your account at any time from settings, or by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account for a serious breach of the rules above, or where we are required to by law.
If we close an account, we will give the guardian a reasonable opportunity to export the student’s portfolio first.
We will update this page when the terms change and move the effective date. For a material change we will email account holders at least 30 days beforehand. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of your current year.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and the courts of Miami-Dade County have jurisdiction over any dispute.
