The agreement, in plain language.

These terms are between Nextreks and each person who uses an account. A student aged 13 to 17 accepts them together with the parent or guardian who approves the account. A student aged 18 or older accepts them for themselves. A parent who opens a parent account agrees to them too.

Our Privacy Policy is part of this agreement and covers what we collect and why.

Nextreks is built for high school students aged 13 and older; no one under 13 can create an account. A student under 18 needs a parent or guardian to approve the account, using a guardian email we can reach. A student aged 18 or older opens and controls their own account.

One account belongs to one student. Accounts are not shared or transferred between students.

Nextreks gives a student:

• Challenges and Capstones, starting with 10 foundational skill Islands, each with 7 Challenges followed by a Capstone. We add new Islands, Challenges and Capstones over time.
• Feedback on their work against a published rubric
• Trait Cards, which organize the work behind each durable skill in the student’s portfolio. A Trait Card is not a credential, badge or certification.
• A portfolio the student controls, private until they choose to share it
• Opportunity recommendations that say why each one matches

We improve the product continuously, so specific Challenges and features may change. We will not remove work a student has already completed.

Pricing will be shared before enrollment opens. Before you pay for anything, we will show you the price, what it includes, how renewal and cancellation work, and our refund policy, and you will agree to those terms at checkout. Schools and partner organizations do not pay to take part.

Explore recommends programs, competitions, volunteer roles and other opportunities connected to your student’s stated interests, and says why each one matches. Opportunities do not receive student information without permission.

Explore is not a placement guarantee. Your family decides what to pursue. We do not control whether a third party accepts your student, and we make no promise about any outcome, admission, offer or job. Opportunities are run by organizations we do not control, so check them yourself before your student takes part.

The “Explore” section of our site includes a search feature powered by Snowday, a separate and independent company. Snowday is not affiliated with, owned by, or operated by Nextreks, and the inclusion of its search tool on our site does not constitute an endorsement of Snowday by Nextreks or of Nextreks by Snowday. Program listings, descriptions, pricing, and availability returned through this feature are sourced and maintained by Snowday and third-party providers, not by Nextreks. Nextreks makes no representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or currency of that information, and is not responsible for any transaction, application, or interaction between a user and a listed program.

The student owns everything they create. Their submissions, uploads, and portfolio are theirs, and nothing in these terms transfers ownership to us.

You give us a limited licence to host, display, and process that work so we can run the service: showing it to reviewers, rendering it in the portfolio, and publishing it if the student chooses to publish. That licence exists only to operate the product and ends when the content is deleted.

We do not use student work in marketing without specific, separate permission from the guardian, and we do not sell it or license it to third parties.

Nextreks owns the platform itself: the curriculum, the software, the brand, and the rubrics. Pathsmith™ is used under licence from America Succeeds.

Submitted work has to be the student’s own. Specifically, do not:

• Submit someone else’s work, or work generated by AI, as the student’s own
• Upload anything unlawful, or anything that infringes another person’s rights
• Share account credentials, or use another person’s account
• Attempt to breach, scrape, or disrupt the service

A portfolio only means something if the work in it is real. Where we find submitted work is not the student’s own, we may remove it and the Trait Card it supports. For repeated or deliberate breaches we may close the account, and we will explain why to the guardian before we do.

Challenge and Capstone work gets feedback against a published rubric from an AI model. Where a named adult also reviews an item, the portfolio labels it Reviewed by that person; otherwise the label says where the item came from and who, if anyone, confirmed it. Reviewers may ask a student to resubmit within their retake allowance. Nextreks does not issue letter marks or a class ranking, and a review outcome is a judgement about a piece of work against a rubric, not about the student.

We aim to keep Nextreks available continuously, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may take the product down for maintenance, and we will give notice for anything planned and significant.

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including any educational, admission, or career outcome.

Our total liability to you in any 12 month period is limited to what you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You may close your account at any time from settings, or by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account for a serious breach of the rules above, or where we are required to by law.

If we close an account, we will give the guardian a reasonable opportunity to export the student’s portfolio first. We do not promise to host a portfolio indefinitely.

We will update this page when the terms change and move the effective date. For a material change we will email account holders at least 30 days beforehand. If you do not accept a change, you may close your account.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and the courts of Miami-Dade County have jurisdiction over any dispute.
